![]() The question I posed is specifically whether anyone has experience with obtaining warranty service from Amazon for Amazon-branded devices, and whether or not they verify that an item is within warranty based upon a purchase receipt, serial number, a combination of the two, or not at all. No, the Halo is not available at other retailers. As I don't know you and you don't know me, I'll assume the former. ![]() It's unclear to me whether you're genuinely trying to be helpful but misunderstand my intentions, or you're intentionally being condescending. I just want to avoid a scenario where Amazon somehow sees this device (likely by serial number) activated before the new order ever even shipped, and denies any warranty request (because it was activated/associated with an account before the new order was ever placed, and thus can’t be associated with the new order).ĭoes anyone here have experience dealing with the warranty process/experience with any other Amazon devices (Kindle, Fire Stick, etc.) that can shed some light on if this might be an issue? I could always just return this device and keep the second device (assuming I get the invite in time), but that seems like a waste (I would just rather Amazon receive the unused band to sell as new). To be clear, I do not mind if the warranty starts from the purchase date of the original device and not from the date of the new order I place (I don’t expect to get another 2-3 month warranty out of this process). There doesn’t seem to be any serial number information on the order itself, so that shouldn’t be a problem. Specifically, I’m unsure whether Amazon verifies warranty start/end date by serial number, order number, or doesn’t really bother since it’s an Amazon branded device. My one concern is dealing with Amazon if the device experiences issues in the first year. That would leave me with the same band I’m using now, an order that shows the full amount (for extended warranty purposes), and a sealed device sent back to Amazon (I would just prefer to keep the device I’m already using). My thought was to request a new invite and, if approved, purchase the exact same device (size and color) on my card, then send back the new device (still sealed) with my old order. My credit card (Citi) offers a 2 year extended warranty, and seeing as how I expect either the battery to be completely drained or the device to be abandoned within the next 3 years, I’d prefer to have the entire purchase on my card in the event that I need to submit an extended warranty request. However, without thinking, I used Amazon gift cards for the majority of my purchase, when I would have preferred to use my credit card to pay the entire amount. I recently purchased a Halo Band, which I absolutely love. Since this seems like the kind of place where a lot of Amazon fans can be found, hopefully someone with experience can chime in.
